GOBONGO VILLEROY

At 11 years of age Villeroy’s powerful constitution, faultless conformation and carcass attributes are enduring. His progeny are all stamped with his exceptional thickness, bone and temperament. A son of Villeroy still holds the Gobongo sale record price of $32,000. Villeroy ranks in the top 1% of the breed for all growth traits and milk. He came out of a herd of 65 cows in march in better condition that bulls half his age. Villeroy is back out working again this season and is truly a grand bull in every way.




ADVANCE XR8 (RF)

What a tremendous influence XR8 has had on the red factor breeding program at Gobongo. His progeny have achieved many records in the stud both in the show and sale ring. A list of his of a few of his progeny’s achievements.

  • Gobongo Castlemaine won Grand Champion Charolais Bull and was a member of the interbreed pair at the Brisbane Royal 2009.
  • Gobongo Colorado sold for $20,000 to Rascal Flats Charolais Stud.
  • Gobongo Sharina C93E sold to Chester Scriven for $15,000
  • Gobongo Bismarck sold for $10,000 to Jamie Abbs in WA.
  • Gobongo Georgina D156E sold at 12 months of age for $15,000 to Ascot Charolais stud.
  • Gobongo Rebby A53E won Junior Champion at Emerald Charolais Feature show and Interbreed Female at Rockhampton Show.
  • Gobongo Edward sold to Advance Charolais stud at the 2010 sale for $10,500.



  • HARVIE REDEMPTION (P) (RF)

    Gobongo maintains the exclusive Australian rights to Harvie Redemption 36P (P). Redemption was the Canadian World Congress Champion Bull and three times Canadian National Champion Bull. Redemption has been used quite extensively across the Gobongo herd was much success. Initially used over heifers as a calving ease sire, so impressed the type he produced it was decided to use him a sire in our ET programs. The females by Redemption in the Red Hot Sale stem from some of the best donor cows. We believe Redemption is the best polled red sire we have used.




    KINDARA ACE

    Ace is a powerful, well constructed son XR8. Selected for his sound conformation, smoothness of muscling and sires presence, Ace has proven to be a consistent sire of quality progeny. Sons of Ace show plenty of natural thickness and loads of masculinity. His daughters are long bodied, elegant females with great do-ability.




    GOBONGO CORNELIUS

    Cornelius is a thick bodied, well boned sire with great natural presence. His dam Rebby U19E is a highly regarded donor cow and has produced many outstanding individuals such as Gobongo Amadeus (P) who sold to Cobblestone Stud in WA for $12,000 as a yearling. Cornelius is an easy keeping, slick coated bull. By XR8 and out of the Rebby cow family, this bull has in built predictability and this certainly evident in his first calves, they are thick set with heaps of breed character.




    GOBONGO CHEROKEE (RF)

    A polled red factor sire, Cherokee was a standout bull right from birth and was selected to be retained in the stud. Cherokee has tremendous length of body, plenty of thickness and a great disposition. His masculine outlook combined with ultra correct conformation add to the overall appeal of this stud sire. His first calves are hitting the ground now. This bull is certainly a sire to watch out for in the future.




    GOBONGO COLORADO (RF)

    The dam of Colorado – Rebby W100E is our best cow. She has been flushed many times to various sires with great results. Colorado is a natural calf out of Rebby W100E and from the moment he hit the ground he was the most impressive bull calf we had seen. Colorado has heaps of natural thickness, good bone and sires presence. Many astute cattlemen admired and commented on this exceptional bull when he was shown in Sydney and Beef 09. Colorado was sold to Rascal Flats Charolais stud for $20,000 at Beef 09. Gobongo joined him over some cows in the spring 09, and his calves are currently being born now.




    GOBONGO DECOY (P)

    A young polled Redemption son retained in the stud for use over heifers, Decoy is out of one of our most highly regarded polled donor dams in Lillian U2E. Lillian U2E produced Gobongo Whyatt Earp a sire retained in the stud who is renowned for the highly productive feminine daughters he produced. Decoy demonstrates tremendous volume and growth with an early maturity pattern and a great scrotal circumference. He is an easy keeping young bull well proven after being put across 58 heifers at only 14 months in the drought last year. His calves started arriving with ease in early September out of two year old heifers. Definitely a reference sire to look out for in future bull sale catalogues.




    ROSEDALE ZEPHLIN (P)

    The resident heifer bull at Gobongo; Zephlin’s 5th season of calves are currently hitting the ground now. His birth EBV ranks him in the top 5% of the breed. We join our heifers at 15 months to calve out at two years of age, and they do this effortlessly with Zephlin calves. Zephlin himself is a faultless sire that is always in tip top condition and rearing to work. His progeny are neatly made and the majority are also polled.
